#ARIAN Q&A 2 - Is devotion not compatible with the path of knowledge? Is there validity to the claim of "I am Brahman (God)" in this world?

Is devotion not compatible with the path of knowledge? Is there validity to the claim of "I am Brahman (God)" in this world?

"While the Absolute Truth is One and indivisible,
In the relative plane of existence, O Lord, I belong to You and not the reverse.
As sea exists without waves, but
The waves can breathe not without the sea!"

The Original (in Sanskrit):
sat api bhEda apagamE
nAtha tavAham na mAmakInas tvam
sAmudrO hi tarangah
kvacana samudrO na tArangah!

- From shaTpadi ("six-legged") stOtram. A beautiful, devotional poem by a great Indian saint, Sri Adi Sankara, who a proponent of Advaita or  "Oneness", philosophy and an unparalleled leader of the path of Gyaana or Knowledge...

While the "Six-legged" refers to the fact that six stanza's of this poem, it also refers to "beetle" symbolically refers to mind with its 5 senses. The point is that the total mind must be engrossed in the Lord's Lotus Feet!
