Does being wealthy have any significance spiritually?

Many associate readily money and power with corruption...

However, for a question about "what will happen to the good efforts of an aspirant if he happens to die before reaping their benefits", Lord Sri Krishna answers Sri Arjuna as follows:

"After enjoying his time in the astral world, as deserved by him, he will be reborn in a family of pristinely virtuous or wealthy ones." (6-41)

It is understandable being reborn in virtuous family. But why wealthy?
